NARRATIVE:
OVER THE COURSE OF 6 YEARS (2015-PRESENT) I HAVE WORKED WITH NATIONAL ZOO AND SMITHSONIAN STAKEHOLDERS TO DOCUMENT UPGRADING THE VISITOR PERIMETER FENCE FOR THE NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL PARK WHILE ALSO EXPLORING WAYS TO MAINTAIN AN INVITING AND OPEN EXPERIENCE OF ENTERING THE ZOO. THESE STUDIES INCLUDED CHECKPOINTS AT THE MAIN ENTRANCES AS WELL AS ENHANCEMENTS TO THE PARKING LOT GATES AND INVOLVED NAVIGATING THE LOCAL AGENCY REVIEW PROCESS FOR THE COMMISSION OF FINE ARTS (CFA), NATIONAL CAPITAL PLANNING COMMISSION (NCPC), STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE (SHPO), ETC. IT HAS INVOLVED NUMBEROUS SMITHSONIAN STAKEHOLDERS AND CHANGES IN MANAGEMENT AND DIRECTION OVER THE YEARS.
